Who is an innovator?
In How Might’s terms, an innovator is someone who can add something useful or valuable to an innovation project. It may be contributing relevant insights on customers or the market, sharing innovation ideas based on your experience, knowledge or creativity, or helping to filter, build and evaluate potential innovations from your particular personal or expert point of view.
How Might projects typically involve hundreds of innovators of all kinds - like client staff, customers, potential customers, partners, suppliers and experts - collaborating with each other on-line to address inspiring innovation challenges.
Our experience is that the results of this sort of collaboration can be far richer and more interesting than traditional innovation methods such as consulting a single expert or getting a few people into a room for a brainstorming. In one of our recent projects, for instance, the winning ideas came from no fewer than 35 different people, the vast majority of whom were from outside the client’s organisation.
